Château and gardens of Villandry

The Renaissance castle was built in the 16th century on the site of a fortress from the Middle Ages. The medieval dunjeon has been preserved and is integrated into the chateau.

We have in Villandry a unique example of Renaissance gardens. They were created at the very beginning of the 20th century, from engravings and documents. They are impressive, to be seen, and seen again, in all seasons.
